which type of ram supported in t41 my laptop have 512 mb ram so i am upgrade my laptop with 1gb so in the 2nd slot which supported ram 256,512,1gb

Thanks. Just swapped out both 256Mb modules in my T40 2373-19U for 2: 1GB DDR PC2100 SO-DIMM / 266MHz / CL-2.5 / PATRIOT PSD1G26616S.

They were just $24/ea. The laptop runs much, much snappier.

If your laptop can support up to 2GB RAM total, you can remove the 256MB RAM module from the bottom slot and replace it with a 1GB module. It should work.

Thanks for these clear instructions. Wanted to put a new pair of RAM in because i needed to upgrade to a linux needing more memory than the laptop curently has, this should fix the problem nicely, and i can probably refit the old ram chips in an even older laptop XD.
