How to replace screen on Dell Latitude E6410

posted in: 4. Dell | 7

In this guide I’ll be replacing the LCD screen on a Dell Latitude E6410 laptop.

STEP 1.

First of all, turn off the computer and remove the battery.

STEP 2.

Very gently insert your fingers under the display bezel.

Wiggle the bezel and separate it from the display back cover.

STEP 3.

Continue separating the bezel from the back cover on both sides of the display assembly.

You can use a piece of soft plastic to separate the bezel.

STEP 4.

The bezel has been removed completely.

STEP 5.

Remove four screws securing the mounting brackets to the back cover.

STEP 6.

Carefully separate the LCD assembly from the display back cover and place it on the keyboard.

STEP 7.

Now you can access the laptop video cable.

STEP 8.

Remove sticky tape securing the connection and unplug the video cable from the connector.

STEP 9.

Remove the failed or damaged LCD. It’s ready for the replacement.

STEP 10.

You’ll have to transfer both (left and right) screen mounting brackets to the new replacement screen.

Each mounting bracket secured by two screws to the side.

Dell Latitude E6410 has a 14.1″ LED-backlit LCD screen installed.

    Hi,

I’m trying to identify some small boards behind the LCD on a Dell E6410. What is the small board at the top left-hand side that has a cable coming from the LCD harness? Also what is the small board, bottom left-hand corner? I recognize the camera, microphone and antennas.

    Hope you can assist.
    Thanks, Kevin

  6. Can I swap an E6410 with an E6400 of the same size?

I want to use a screen from my Dell laptop Latitude E6400 to replace the screen on my E6410 of the same size. Is this ok? Or is there an ez way to get rid of the vertical lines and foggy appearance on the 6410?

I don’t think you can do that.
Dell Latitude E6400 has a 40-pin LCD screen.
Dell Latitude E6410 has a 30-pin LCD screen.
You’ll have to find a replacement screen that fits your laptop. There are some good options here: https://ebay.to/2OEHy0f

There is no easy way to get rid of the vertical lines and foggy appearance. The screen has to be replaced.
