Thank you so much for this very detailed how-to! I have one problem since I replaced my screen, and I think it might've occured during this work. My microphone does not work, and I am not sure if this is the same cable for the webcam?? I'm pretty sure it was working before I did this repair (I've done a couple, but I believe I've skyped successfully in between the repair before this one and this latest work). Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Karl Wester and Adam were skittish about bezel removal, as was I.

When I speak below of prying the bezel away, my best results seemed to come when I'd lift the inner edge of the bezel and push in a little on the outer edge

I was able to easily pry the bezel away from the screen frame at the corner where I removed the left screw.

After that, I lifted the inner edge of the bezel close to that corner, away from the screen and the first clip closest to the corner popped out pretty easily.

The fourth or fifth clip up the edge, getting close to the upper corner, I required some firm upward pressure to pop that clip.

I switched to the bottom, pulling the inner edge of the bezel away from the screen and had some luck with the bezel coming away from the lower edge (the bezel includes the bottom of the screen assembly that comes out and curls down around the wire channel at the bottom).

I then rocked the bottom of the bezel as I lifted up on the inner edge of the bezel and clips came away reasonably cooperatively, but got stuck at the right lower corner.
SO left and bottom edges were clear, but three corners and two sides remained.

Aha! There was a small amount of adhesive holding the center of the bottom edge of the bezel to the screen. I heard it peel apart as I worked my fingers along the inner edge of the bottom of the bezel.

Close to the right corner, lifting the inner edge and bottom of the bezel at the same time and rocking back and forth, the right lower corner came loose..

Lifting the right bottom corner and the inner edge o the right side at the same time, rocking back and forth, the first clip from the bottom came free. 2nd and third came pretty quick. Gentle upward pressure popper the fourth (fifth?)

The bezel was flexible enough that with the left and right edges free, I could bend the bezel enough to life the bottom of the bezel off of the wire channels and hinges of the bottom of the assembly..

Patient rocking back and forth at the top of the left edge, working both the inner and outer edges, I felt the outer edge give way and the left top corner was free.

Working the fingers under both outer and inner edges, I rocked back and forth to free up the top edge from the newly freed corner to the last stubborn corner.

Hello Sir,

I have a problem with my compaq presario cq50-103NR. My LCD is a bit blurry or pixelated. It has this horizontal lines on the screen. The display is still visible. The color is a little messed up. There are a mix of green and pink/purple shades on certain parts of the screen. Images are displayed blurry like it has a very high contrast and sharpness. Does it have something to do with the cable ? capacitors? Thanks in advance

@ Norman,
Test your laptop with an external monitor.
If external video works properly and the problem appears only on the internal screen, this could be:
1. Bad connection between the video cable and logic board or LCD screen.
2. Failed video cable.
3. Fails LCD screen.
