When I apply pressure to the back of the screen when closing the laptop, the screen goes back to normal - but it then goes back to blank after I stop applying pressure. I assume based on this error/remedy that there is a lose or faulty wire somewhere. Would you have any idea which wire(s) or components could be causing the issue? I’ve taken the computer apart as specified and everything on/around the motherboard seems to be plugged in correctly. I was going to try opening the monitor to see if I could see any loose wires in there, but wanted to ask if that’s wise before embarking on that journey. I read somewhere once that there is one other i7 that will work as well, but I don’t remember the model.

So I thought it is hardware failure, most probably connction problem (this laptop never took any hard hit from ant thing). So I purchased a camera-mircophone connector for asus eee pc 1015cx from e-bay. but now the problem is how do I dissassemble it’s webcam and microphone to replace it’s connector? I see no screw in LCD pannel but only 4 screw under battery. please help!

Step one- remove the cover and expose the HDD and Memory banks.
Step two- just right of the memory cards you will see a 1/2 x 3 in window… remove the black tape inside this window and Wha La the battery! changed it in 3 min.

My questions are:
1.How do i know if other parts of the computer isnt broken?

2. Do you think i need a keyboard replacement? Or i just need to clean it and i wll be fine? How do i know?

3. Where can i get the “kit” that you are using on this guide?

how hard would it be to take the old one out and put the new one in?

I haven’t done it myself but I think it’s not difficult. If you search on eBay for “Q500A trackpad” you’ll find the trackpad pictures and it looks like designed to be easily replaceable. It looks like a module that you can swap. It’s necessary to remove the top cover case as shown in the step 19 but it’s not difficult either.
