Thank you for the step by step tear down!!
I came across this old laptop at my fiance's house and immediately fell in love with the smooth, sleek keyboard and display. The MS Vista install was trash and the battery is dead (expected) along with a slow thrashing HD but most notably the fan was constantly SCREAMING! I installed an SSD and installed Fedora 31 which runs great but the fan was completely obnoxious. I checked BIOS settings but could not slow down the fan. I decided to take it apart with these instructions and found about 1/4 thick layer of cat hair and dust choking in the inside of the fins for cooling. I peeled it off, blew it out, and reassembled and now the fan and me are happy! Thank you!

I have a hp pavilion dv7t 7000 and the configuration of the bezel assembly is different than all of the available tutorials and the service guide offered on HPs website suggest.

There are two points on the bezel that I cannot release. The guides suggest there is a screw cover but that appears to be untrue with this model. Do you know what I can do to release the last two clips/screw/or what ever is keeping the bezel on?

Awesome guide. Answered almost every question I had about my dc power jack suspicions. Mine is loose and I have to wiggle the wire really aggressively to get it to connect and just recently it began to wiggle itself loose when I move the laptop. One question though: Does the dc power jack mount to the bottom of the chassis or to the flimsy plastic trim on the sides? (the plastic trim on the sides of my laptop aren't very well connected anymore). Thanks again.
