Absolutely great!
I followed your steps to clean my notebook including the fan after 10 years. Now all works perfectly.
Only one tip before you start!
Prepare something where you can put in all the tiny screws for every step. I used 16 caps from water bottles, glued them on a card and numbered them from 1-16.
So every screw gets back on the right place.
Hope this is useful for you
Greetings Sendman

Hi. Hope everyone had a enjoyable & safe holiday season!

Great detailed instructions. Is it possible to replace the plastic left side & right side mousepad button caps. My pad works fine - button below the plastic caps work fine. Both caps are beginning to split - can see hair line cracks beginning to spread with more use.

I've replaced numerous key caps and retainer clips over the past couple of years - would like to do this for these 2 button caps.

Danke!

@ feardha,
No you cannot do that. You'll have to go though all disassembly steps 1-13. Only after that you'll be able to access and replace the CMOS battery.
