Do you have a Toshiba Tecra M4 or Satellite R15 Tablet PC? The display is loose and wobbly? Probably it’s time to tighten the display hinge. Both Tecra M4 and Satellite R10/R15 Tablet PCs are very similar so you can use the same display disassembly instructions.
In order to access the display hinge you’ll have to remove the LCD cover. There are four screws securing the hinge, I pointed them with red arrows on the picture above. Tightening these screws will help to make your display less wobbly.

I have a Tecra M4 and the screen quit working, i tried to kook it up to a LCD monitor and cycle through the screen outputs and still got no signal. Does this mean my graphics card is dead? Please someone let me know what, how, and if it’s worth to fix.

First of all, I would check the memory module, it’s possible you have a bad module. Most likely you have two memory modules installed. Try removing them one by one. Test the laptop with each memory module separately. If your laptop starts with one module but no with the other one, the last module is bad.

Hi,
i ha ve a Tecra M4, it works fine but the annoying thing on it is that the screen is loose and whopply on the base of thelaptop.
Is there a way to tighten that as well?
I already took of the bottom of the Laptop Case and checked the screws i seen but all are tight.

If all screws are tight, apparently the hinge itself is getting old.
I think it’s a heavy display for this type of hinge.

Hi I have a Tecra M4 and shows no video on screen, but by connecting an external monitor, what they believe to be the problem?

Hi, my M4 is missbehaving and I think it is the graphics card due to strange graphics even from POST (ascii’s completely mixed up and what not).
Sometimes it boots up ok but usually it won’t take long until it BSODs even in Win7(!)
So, my question is if you think I’m on the right track and if so, is it possible to replace the graphics card in a M4?

I think you are right. Just in case test your laptop with an external monitor. If external image is garbled too, this is graphics card related failure.
You cannot replace the graphics card because it’s integrated into the motherboard.
When graphics card fails, the entire motherboard has to be replaced.

Test your laptop with an external monitor.
If you see same problem on the external screen, this is graphics card related failure.

Hi,
I have a Tecra M4, weird intermittant issue, occasionally when booting all the parts of the screen that are supposed to be Black suddenly turn Red, this will also occur in windows with all different colors doing weird things, though it is probably all to do with the black turning red .. any ideas ??

In my R15, the hinges (both left and right) holding the display panel have broken on the bend part of the hinge. Is there a way to fix it? Can I buy the hinge-part?

You should search for the entire display cover. The hinge is part of the cover.
