@ Max,
Thank you for your suggestion. If you don't mind I'll translate it into English (using Google translator) :)

Replace the ram 'Amilo L7300 is very simple, I want to give the suggestion is as follows: To remove the matte keys is better to leverage the center, corresponding to the keys 7 / 8 because at this point there is mounting pressure, another suggestion is to remove the 7 key under which there is the only screw that locks the keyboard.
It is not necessary to disconnect the keyboard to replace the ram.
Thanks to all, greetings!
from Italy,
Max

grazie a tutti ,saluti !!

Thanks for the instructions. The manual says that an engineer is required to change the memory! With your guide it really was quite simple. I agree with the posts that say that the keyboard doesn't need to be removed but I did remove it anyway to get access to remove all the dust from the fan and the heat exchanger grill.

Many thanks, Myles.

hi,

I did see somewhere that for the amillo l7320GW you can add 2 No. 1GB ram... which is what i was going to try but now i'm thinking that 2 No. 512mb RAM should be enough for me. still thinking about it.

Hi!

I'm just changed one of the two 256MB module to a PC3200 (DDR400) 1GB module.
The whole process was much more easier than i thought.
You don't have to unplug the keyboard. It's cable is long enough.
Changing the ram module was also easy.

Thanks for the guide and the posts!

Hi Laptop Tech

At last.....I have done it!

Following various trips abroad, I finally found an hour today to open up my old Amelo 7300 and I successfully fitted an additional 500MB of memory. Many thanks for your bits of help with this.

You might be interested in the following additional information:

1. Removing the keyboard bezel was easier than I had imagined, and it came away easily and without damage (and could easily be clicked back into place at the end).
2. The keyboard is fixed with just one screw - at the top. It can then easily be slid out and lifted.
3. It was NOT necessary to unlock the connector and release the keyboard cable. The cable was long enough to allow the keyboard to be turned over and laid face downwards at the bottom of the laptop.
4. The metal cover on the left side is secured with four screws. It can then easily be removed.
5. Inserting the memory module was the hardest task. It really had to be pushed in very hard before I felt that it was fully in (no click or other indication), which allowed the side little bits to engage easily. I was not fully convinced that it was correctly fitted until I switched on and found that the extra 500MB was recognised.
6. Putting everything back together again was relatively simple.

Thank you again for your support. The laptop is now working so much quicker!

Wasyl,

All the signs on heaven and earth suggest, that it’s impossible (even the manual), so anyone can help me with the answer? It’s vital for me, because I’m thinking about adding another 1GB RAM module.

The only way to find out if your laptop can support 2GB is testing it with an additional 1GB RAM module.
Let us know if it works.

I'm looking for any info about maximum ram modules and total maximum ram supported by F-S Amilo 7300.

Even in the manual, I see that maximum total ram for this notebook is 1GB (in two 512 modules).

A few days back, I bought 1GB PC2700 DDR333 and I've installed it in place of old one (Previously I've had 2 x 256MB).

To my great surprise, the notebook works perfectly and bios and Windows XP as well recognizes 1280 MB of RAM.

My question: How come? All the signs on heaven and earth suggest, that it's impossible (even the manual), so anyone can help me with the answer? It's vital for me, because I'm thinking about adding another 1GB RAM module.
