This guide will help you to replace memory modules in a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo L7300 laptop. In this laptop both memory slots are located under the keyboard, so it will be necessary to remove the keyboard first.
Memory replacement instructions:
STEP 1. Unplug the power adapter and remove the battery.
STEP 2. Using a sharp object, lift up one side of the keyboard bezel (power button cover). You can use a small flathead screwdriver.
STEP 3. Continue removing the keyboard bezel with your fingers.
STEP 4. After the keyboard bezel is removed you can remove the keyboard. Most likely the keyboard is secured to the laptop case by a screw/screws on the top (it’s not shown on the picture). Remove all screws securing the keyboard and carefully lift it up. Be careful because the keyboard is attached to the motherboard. Before you remove the keyboard, you’ll have to unlock the connector and release the keyboard cable. Very carefully lift up the brown clip on the connector and release the keyboard cable. WARNING! Do not separate the brown clip from the connector, just lift it up a little bit, maybe 1-2 millimeters. The brown clip is permanently attached to the connector and it has to stay attached as it shown on the picture 5. If you accidentally break the keyboard connector you’ll have to replace the whole motherboard.
STEP 5. Both memory slots are located under the metal cover on the left side. Remove screws securing the cover. Remover the cover.
STEP 6. Now you can remove, replace or upgrade the memory module. This laptop can handle 1GB RAM total, up to 512MB in each slot. You should use PC2700 DDR333 memory modules.
Using this guide you also can access laptop fan, heatsink, processor, and wireless card. If the cooling fan looks dirty, you can clean it up with compressed air.
