Thanks,

You helped me make a decision. I bought a replacement keyboard at your e-bay source at a substantial discount to HP's price and will try to play techie and replace it myself.

The only question I have is do I have to discharge the static from myself first?

pbilski,

is there posibility to adopt keybord from other model to dv6000?
I have keyboard for dv2000 – it is identic as dv6000 keyboard, but cable is wider (last connectors are not connected)

It's possible but you'll have to find another keyboard with same cable. In your case, the cable is different and it will not work.

Can I just cut cable to size?

No, you cannot. :)

Thank you so much - your site gave me the confidence to take off a couple of keys and remove a piece of dirt that was blocking one of them - works a treat now!
