This step-by-step guide illustrates how to replace the keyboard on an Acer Ferrari laptop. Instructions were created for Ferrari 4000 series.
The entire operation to replace built in Laptop keyboard takes but a few minutes and requires one small screwdriver plus one small philips screw driver.
Be careful when you insert the screwdriver between the keyboard and the laptop case to release latches. If the screwdriver accidentally slides up, you can pop up a key cap from a key on the keyboard.
WARNING! The keyboard is connected to the motherboard via a flat ribbon cable and this cable is LOCKED inside the connector. Before you pull the cable, you have to unlock the connector as it shown on the pictures in the disassembly guide. If you accidentally break the connector, you’ll have to replace the motherboard because you will not be able to find another connector. Be very careful with the keyboard connector.
Other than that, it’s a very easy procedure and you should be able to replace the keyboard in a few easy steps.
