CAMXposure,

I would be very interested in seeing a follow up on the CCFL to LED backlight conversion- I too would like to do the same on a aspire 9410, which has a re-occuring problem with the backlighting

I don't think it's possible. In order to support LED screens, the motherboard has to be designed for that.
If you have a regular CCFL screen in your laptop, you cannot replace it with a LED screen. Unless your motherboard has built in support for both screens.
Let me know if I'm wrong.

Samael,

Is there any way to convert from cathode backlight to led backlight? I had to replace broken display and could not put my hands on cathode variant so i bought led backlight display. While on battery mode it works fine but while connected to the power supply it tries to find inverter to power up the backlight and obviously fails.

What??? You've replaced a regular LCD screen with a LED backlit screen and it works on battery power? Are you kidding me?
