i was able to successfully replace the LCD screen for my acer aspire 5730z laptop. The only exceptions to the instructions are:

step1: there are four screws, one at each corner of the LCD screen bezel.

step 5: after removing LCD screen bezel, unscrew mounting screw for inverter to unplug male plug on right side of inverter. That male plug is connected to the LCD screen and cannot be removed without removing the inverter mounting screw. The inverter can remain plugged in on the left which leads to the main cabling from the motherboard.

Other than that, the instructions and pictures were a great asset to the replacement procedure. Two thumbs-up!

Hi Guys!

I am from Germany and got an Acer TravelMate 5624. The Problem is, that the fan isnt be able to cool the CPU anymore , so i want to open it and clean it.
However, i tried to open it very carefully but got stuck at the point, were the Motherboard is connected to the Keyboard. It is a very special Laptop how i noticed and as i have no clue how to solve this problem, it would be genially if you could help me. It seems that there is no way to disconnect the Keyboard from the top platform of the laptop, so that i cant touch the point where cables and motherboard are connected. Maybe you have already dissambled an 5624 and are able to help me.

Greetings from Germany so far!

This is a very nice guide !
However, I'm in need of another piece of information:
My laptop's motherboard got fried, so I want to convert the screen's 30-pinned plug to a VGA-cable + power source.
However, I can't seem to find the pin-out for the screen anywhere.

Details:
* Type: Acer Aspire 1692
* Warranty: expired
* VGA pinout: http://www.consolegames.ro/forum/attachments/f9-microsoft-xbox-360/21857d1241344056-xbox-360-audio-video-mod-vga_pinout.jpg
* Screen type: I'll add this later, if you need it.
* Screen size: 15.4"

A donation is imminent after providing me with a pinout for the screen :D
It sure is cheaper than buying a new 15.4" screen!

Also, I'd love to get my laptopkeyboard to work separately, or would I need specific hardware to interpret the signals sent from the keyboard? (Probably on the motherboard, which is, as I already mentioned, fried).

Kind regards,

Peter

Thank you for this post!
My screen was getting very very dark after a few minutes.
Researched this problem on the Internet and found that I have a bad inverter.
Replaced inverter myself and now the screen works perfectly!!!!

Thanks again.
