You can easily remove a broken notebook screen in six steps. These instructions were created for a Compaq notebook but will work on any other notebook too.
1. Remove rubber screw seals from the screen mask. You can use a flathead screwdriver. Do not loose seals because it will be hard finding a replacement. After I remove screw seals, I usually glue them to the screen mask.
2. Remove screws. On this example you have to remove only two screws. Other laptops might have more screw/seals.
3. Start removing the screen mask with your fingers. You have to release plastic latches in order to separate the screen mask from the screen top cover.
4. After the screen mask is removed, remove all screw securing the screen to the brackets/hinges.
5. Carefully disconnect the video cable from the connector on the back of the LCD screen.
6 Disconnect the screen cable plugged into the inverter board and remove the screen.
Now you can replace the screen and assemble everything back together following the steps in reverse order.
