@ Moalin,

could I use a normal separated screen like the one with the desktop computers…. I mean there are two cables from the screen one was for power and the other was data…so, is there any meaning I could do that.

You cannot do that.

@ Manuel Miranda,

I need a LCD inverter for my HP dv6660ep, but i don’t know if it is considered a dv6000 series.

When I'm trying to get a service manual for HP Pavilion dv6660ep notebook it points me to HP Pavilion dv6500, dv6600, and dv6700 Entertainment PCs Maintenance and Service Guide.
The inverter part number is mentioned on the page 49 and it is: 431391-001
The best way to find a new inverter is searching by the part number. This way you'll get a compatible one.

@ Laptop Tech,

Thank you for your help and direction. I think I'll give one of the two methods you mentioned a try. (probably over the weekend). I will get back to you with hopefully my success story. Thanks again. Your advice is very much appreciated.

@ Phoenix,

I replace my screen on my Dv6000. Now when I turn the laptop on the screen flickers till I move the screen and I can irritate it by flexing the screen or tilting it it shows. I can see the display fine if I put something on the top left corner on the screen once I remove it the screen flickers and freezes up.

Most likely it's one of the following:
1. Bad connection between the video cable and LCD screen. Try reseating the cable.
2. Defective LCD screen.

@ Any Advice,

Any advice you could offer would be appreciated. My Pavilion dv6100 CTO notebook started getting a very low resolution look to it. Graphics look pixelated with red, blue and green fine lines running through them (looks almost like colored pen lines). There’re also very fine vertical lines that run across the entire screen.

This sounds like GPU (graphics chip) failure. HP Pavilion dv6000 series notebooks are known for this problem.
Probably you cannot get external video because of that.
If you have nothing to lose, you can try this fix: http://www.laptoprepair101.com/laptop/2011/02/23/fix-laptop-motherboard-with-failed-nvidia-graphics-chip/
Also, check out this method: http://www.laptoprepair101.com/laptop/2010/10/06/fix-video-problem-hp-laptops/
Read comments 122 and 123. Maybe calling HP will work for you too. Good luck!

I also get flickering, and dimming screen but it gets temporarily better when I open the screen lid a few times. I've had that for some time now.

The biggest problem is that I can't get it to show on an external monitor to see if the poor resolution continues. I tried on two different monitors. My Windows "properties" shows the display brand and model when I hook it up but the monitor reads "no signal".

Any ideas on where I should start? I know, I should probably just try to get a new laptop.
Thank you in advance...
