These LCD screen removal instructions were created for a Dell Latitude laptop but should work for any other laptop too.
Display panels for all laptops are very similar and you can remove the LCD screen if you follow these generic steps:
1. Remove screw seals – plastic or rubber screw covers. Usually you’ll find one screw cover in each corner on the LCD bezel and some covers in the middle. Some laptops have up to 8-10 screw covers but in most laptops have only 4-6.
2. Remove all screws from the LCD bezel with a small cross-slotted screwdriver.
3. Separate the screen bezel from the screen cover. The guy in the above mentioned instructions separates the screen bezel with a screwdriver. I wouldn’t recommend that because you can damage the plastic. I usually use a guitar pick as it shown here because the pick is softer then laptop plastic but strong enough to do the job. You cannot damage laptop plastic using guitar pick.
4. Remove screw securing the LCD screen to the screen brackets/hinges. Usually you’ll find 2-3 screws on each side of the LCD screen.
5. Carefully remove the LCD screen from the housing. Unplug the video cable from the back side of the screen. Unplug backlight cable from the inverter board.
Now you can remove and replace the LCD screen with a new one.
