How to remove LCD screen from Dell Inspiron 600m laptop

This tutorial explains how you can take apart the display panel on a Dell Inspiron 600m laptop and remove LCD screen, inverter board and video cable. Also, you can use this tutorial for replacing broken hinges. When the display panel is taken apart, it will take only 5 minutes to replace both hinges.
Before you start replacing parts, you have to find out what is causing the problem. Let’s take a look at a few different video failures and possible solutions.
1. If the same video defect appears on both laptop LCD and external monitor connected to your laptop via the VGA port, the problem is not related to the LCD screen/inverter/video cable. This problem could be related to the laptop motherboard or graphics card.
2. If you see one or more 1-pixel colorful vertical lines running from top to bottom, you have a problem with the LCD screen.
3. If you have a thick vertical bar running from top to bottom in the center of the screen, most likely this problem is related to the LCD screen.
4. If the image has a reddish tint, most likely this problem is related to the LCD screen. To be precise, the backlight lamp is dying.
5. If the screen starts without backlight or loosing backlight after a while, the problem could be related to the screen inverter or the backlight lamp.
In some cases, instead of replacing display parts one by one, it makes sense to replace the whole display panel assembly witch included LCD screen, inverter board, video cable, hinges. You can find a good used display panel or other display parts here.
