Do you want to know how to replace the keyboard on a Toshiba Satellite P205D laptop? It’s really easy if you follow these keyboard removal instructions. This guide will work perfectly for a Satellite P200/P205 laptop because it’s identical to a P205D.

You can find a new keyboard here for about USD30. Also, you can search on the Internet by the Toshiba part number: K000050500 (Silver) and K000047870 (Gray). These two are part numbers for US keyboards.

Be very careful when you are unplugging the keyboard cable from the motherboard.

the keyboard cable is clipped into a connector on the motherboard. You can unlock the connector by moving the 2 tabs on either side of the connector forwards (towards the screen), on my laptop the tabs are white. This releases the keyboard cable and you can now remove the keyboard fully.
