I have also I compaq presario v6000. When bought this laptop back early 2007 less then a year later the wireless went out on my. HP / Compaq repaired it for me. A few months later the power cord wouldn’t work on me as well. Last month the mother broad went out on me. Now I don’t know if they changed the whole broad. Could someone help me out. In addition, the screen cracked but didn’t ask HP to fix it since the warranty don’t cover the screen. I had someone else fix this issue for me. This laptop only work for me for less then two years.

I’m sorry to say this but hp is total bullshit. I posted here and another website connecting me here telling my story of my lcd screen and inverter problems. Well you told me to get in touch with hp about the extended warranty, I dealt with somebody from India for about 2 hours to convince him my computer wouldn’t work after taking out my battery for 30 seconds….taking my hard drive out for 30 seconds…..taking both out……finally, taking my ram out. I told him about the enhancement program and was quickly told I fell under that bracket. I was sent a fed-ex box, followed the steps and sent it back. Well Today I check my email and was notified hp tried to get in contact with me concerning my laptop. I call up customer service once and had some guy pull up the wrong information 3 times from someone named adam in a different part of California from a long ways off where I’m located. I finally get someone who pulls up my information and said there was a spill in my lcd and it would cost me 766.I explained to him the person I talked to told me my computer was covered under the extended warranty and was told something like this to the same degree “your warranty doesn’t cover hardware replacement, we thought it was something easy we could do”. Well I went off and was told to call back in the morning to talk with a supervisor. I hope to knock some sense into the supervisor and tell them they are obligated under warranty to fix my laptop. Again, this is the second time I sent this laptop in, I have a home business containing two hp laptops and the newer model is starting to act up and shut down along with another hp I bought for my brother last Christmas that keeps chewing up hard drives and malfunctioning. The model I sent is in the HPDV6000 and am very pissed, disappointed, and lost faith in hp altogether. I would advise anyone with an hp in their homes to either return it or buy a different brand other than hp and Compaq or sell it. It might be me but there is no way to bring the pros about an hp or Compaq computer and their lack of customer service.

I have buy hppavillion product no491pch064 pc hp a6485l from bangkok thailand.
we got a problem during operate they were no signal and computer gonedown. i buy in march2008 and it cannot work in may 2009. i bring it to the shop which i buy they say that
the cpu q66oo intel and the main broad foxconn is out off work. so i bring to hp service center
they said the warranty is 1 year. they didnot check any thing.so how to know the reson why it cannot work.

My Daughters hp pavillion dv 9000 power supply cord was chewed through unfortunely on the low voltage dc side buy the cat. I bought a new power supply and the laptop still will not recharge the battery. My son has the same laptop and when I use a fully charged battery the laptop works fine untill it becomes discharged.

I assume you tested the new adapter by connecting it to the son’s computer, right? I guess the new adapter is charging the battery in the son’s computer. Maybe the new adapter is defective?

Apparently, the cat shorted the power cable and fried something on the motherboard. It’s not necessarily related to the fuse. Unfortunately, I don’t work on the component level and cannot give you a good advice.

Yes, it will cost that much if you send your laptop to the repair shop. On the other hand, you can buy a brand new LCD for about $80-90 on eBay and replace it yourself as I explained in this post: Replacing damaged LCD in HP Pavilion dv2000.

I have HP Pavilion dv2132ea Notebook PC and having some problem. when u switch it on u see all white in the screen. they said its LCD. ive tried having it check and they said the problem is:
Diagnosis: LCD due to intermittent LCD/monitor not working (garbled/white screen) problem.

I have disassembled the laptop in hopes of finding a fuse but have not found one on any of the related boards (power connector assy or on the system board in close proximity to where power plug is on board.) I am missing a power reset button that I cannot find visually or in h.p. manual? any assistance or insight you could give me in this matter would be greatly appriciated.
