The repair guys that are checking it out say that the “power card” is busted and needs to replaced. But they cannot find the part. Which leaves me no choice but to replace the motherboard.

Is there a “power card” in this laptop?

I don’t know what the “power card” is.
Maybe they said “power button board” which is shown in the step 9? Ask them.
By the way, it’s not a part of the motherboard and you can find one on eBay very cheap.

Replaced a fan on this and now the laptop does NOTHING when I press the power button. All connectors are connected. Tried w/ and w/o battery installed. Tried with a different power cord. Still just does nothing. When I press and hold power button for 5+ seconds, still nothing.

Check if you forgot to connect the power switch board cable shown in the step 9.
If it’s connected, make sure the cable plugged in correctly.

Hi!

Ive recently given in my laptop for repair as it was not powering up. Not with AC Adapter, not with battery. Nothing.

The repair guys that are checking it out say that the “power card” is busted and needs to replaced. But they cannot find the part. Which leaves me no choice but to replace the motherboard.

Is there a “power card” in this laptop? I mean I hope im not gettng scammed! Is there someplace I could buy it online?

I already removed the memory card, but there is a built in 1 GB chip. How can I find it.?

HP 530 laptop doesn’t have built-in memory. Both slots located on the bottom of the laptop.
Do you have two slots on the bottom?

Thanks for this usefule site. I guess my HP 530 has a memory fault, after starting windows I get a memory fault at 0×000000000 with the instruction 0x73cc989e.

I already removed the memory card, but there is a built in 1 GB chip. How can I find it.?

I must to change the RTC battery, someone knows the specific name of the RTC battery? (..like CR2032 or similar)

It looks like HP 530 notebook has a regular 3V CR2032 CMOS battery.
