This guide explains how to remove the keyboard and clean the cooling fan inside a Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo M7440 laptop. It’s possible that this guide will work for some other Amilo laptops with the same case.
If your laptop shuts off on its own without any warning most likely it happens because of processor overheating. The processor overheat because of dust buildup between the fan and heatsink. If that’s the case, cleaning the cooling fan and heatsink will fix the problem.

In order to access the cooling module you’ll have to remove the keyboard. It’s not difficult, simply remove the plastic bezel above the keyboard and then unscrew the keyboard. The cooling module is located under the metal plate under the the keyboard.
You can clean the cooling module with compressed air without removing the cooling fan. Simply spray air inside the fan until there is no dust inside the heatsink.
Also, you can replace thermal compound between the heat sink and processor.
Static electricity can kill your laptop. I recommend wearing an anti-static wrist strap while working with internal parts of your laptop.
