In this guide I explain how to disassemble an Acer Aspire 5745 series laptop (I’m taking apart Acer Aspire 5745G-6726).

The guide might work for some other Acer Aspire models. If it works for you, please mention the laptop model number in the comments.

I’ll go though the following major disassembly steps:

STEP1-4: Removing hard drive, memory. Accessing CMOS battery and wireless card.
STEP 5-11: Disconnecting and removing keyboard.
STEP 12-15: Removing top cover assembly.
STEP 16-21: Disconnecting and removing laptop display panel.
STEP 22-25: Removing laptop motherboard.
STEP 26-27: Accessing laptop cooling fan and DC jack harness.

In the following guide I explain how to disassemble a Gateway NV series laptop. To be accurate, I’m working on a Gateway NV53 laptop (NV5302u). It also says model: MS2285 on the bottom.

I’m taking it apart in order to fix broken DC jack. The DC jack is soldered to the motherboard, so the whole laptop has to be disassembled and motherboard removed. With the following guide you should be able to remove and replace (if needed) all main laptop parts.

In this guide I explain how to disassemble a HP Pavilion dm4 laptop.

I’m doing this disassembly in order to replace damaged LCD screen. Unfortunately, in order to replace the LCD screen in an HP Pavilion dm4 laptop, it’s necessary to disassemble the entire laptop and remove the display panel.
