<p>In this guide I show how to remove and replace broken screen on Acer Aspire 5560 series laptops.</p>
<p>Most likely this guide will work for some other Acer Aspire models. If it fits your laptop please mention the model number in commends after this post.</p>
<p>Acer Aspire 5560 uses a LED-backlit LCD screen which is not very expensive. I&#8217;ll explain how to find a compatible replacement screen at the end of this guide. Let&#8217;s go though the screen removal procedure first.</p>
<p><span id="more-2627"></span></p>
<p>In the following guide I explain only how to replace the screen. If you need to disassemble the laptop base, check out my <a title="Acer Aspire 5560 base disassembly" href="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/disassemble-acer-aspire-5560-series-laptop/">previous Acer Aspire 5560 guide</a>.</p>
<p>Before you start make sure the laptop is turned off.</p>
<p><strong>STEP 1.</strong></p>
<p>Unlock and remove laptop battery.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Remove battery" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Acer-Aspire-5560-screen/removing-led-lcd-screen-02.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 2.</strong></p>
<p>You&#8217;ll find two screw covers on the lower part of the screen bezel.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Remove screw covers" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Acer-Aspire-5560-screen/removing-led-lcd-screen-03.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 3.</strong></p>
<p>Remove both screw covers with a sharp object and glue them somewhere on the bezel so they don&#8217;t get lost.</p>
<p>Remove both screws found under covers.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Remove screws from bezel" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Acer-Aspire-5560-screen/removing-led-lcd-screen-04.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="377" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 4.</strong></p>
<p>Start separating the screen bezel from the display cover on the upper part of the display.</p>
<p>Carefully insert your fingers between the bezel and LCD screen and wiggle the bezel. There are hidden plastic latches securing the bezel.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Separate bezel from display cover" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Acer-Aspire-5560-screen/removing-led-lcd-screen-05.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 5.</strong></p>
<p>Continue separating the screen bezel from the display cover.</p>
<p>When it&#8217;s separated on the top of the display, move to the lower part.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Continue removing bezel" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Acer-Aspire-5560-screen/removing-led-lcd-screen-06.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="377" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 6.</strong></p>
<p>The screen bezel removed.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Screen bezel removed" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Acer-Aspire-5560-screen/removing-led-lcd-screen-07.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 7.</strong></p>
<p>Remove four screws securing LCD screen mounting brackets to the display back cover.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Remove screen screws" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Acer-Aspire-5560-screen/removing-led-lcd-screen-08.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 8.</strong></p>
<p>Before you separate the screen from the cover, it&#8217;s necessary to disconnect the web camera cable.</p>
<p>The web camera module mounted above the screen and it&#8217;s not a part of the screen.</p>
<p>Unplug the cable from the left side of the web camera.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Disconnect web camera" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Acer-Aspire-5560-screen/removing-led-lcd-screen-09.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 9.</strong></p>
<p>Now separate the display back cover from the LCD screen.</p>
<p>Be careful, the video cable and web camera cable still attached to the screen.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Separate back cover" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Acer-Aspire-5560-screen/removing-led-lcd-screen-10.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 10.</strong></p>
<p>The web camera cable is part of the video harness.</p>
<p>The web camera cable glued to the screen with double sticky tape. Separate this cable from the screen.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Access LCD video harness" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Acer-Aspire-5560-screen/removing-led-lcd-screen-11.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 11.</strong></p>
<p>Remove sticky tape securing the video cable connector.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Remove sticky tape" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Acer-Aspire-5560-screen/removing-led-lcd-screen-12.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="376" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 12.</strong></p>
<p>Disconnect the video cable from the connector on the LCD screen.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Disconnect video cable" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Acer-Aspire-5560-screen/removing-led-lcd-screen-13.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="377" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 13.</strong></p>
<p>Remove two screws securing the LCD screen to the right hinge bracket.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Screws on LCD right side" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Acer-Aspire-5560-screen/removing-led-lcd-screen-14.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 14.</strong></p>
<p>Remove two more screws securing the screen to the left hinge bracket.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Screws on LCD left side" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Acer-Aspire-5560-screen/removing-led-lcd-screen-15.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 15.</strong></p>
<p>Now you can remove the damaged screen and replace it with a new one.</p>
<p>Assemble the laptop following steps in the opposite direction.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Remove screen from Acer Aspire 5560" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Acer-Aspire-5560-screen/removing-led-lcd-screen-16.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p>As I mentioned at the beginning of this disassembly guide, Acer Aspire 5560 laptop has an LED-backlit LCD screen installed.</p>
<p>The best way to find a new compatible screen is searching by the model number which is printed on the back side of the original screen.</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s my screen part number: LP156WH2 (TL)(EA). You can find a <a href="http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?ff3=4&amp;pub=5574673312&amp;toolid=10001&amp;campid=5335918710&amp;customid=Aspire+5560+screen&amp;mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_from%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dp5197.m570.l1313%26_nkw%3DLP156WH2%2B%2528TL%2529%2528EA%2529%26_sacat%3DSee-All-Categories" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">new replacement screen here</a>.</p>
<p>If you have a different screen installed, just search by the model number as I did.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="New screen for Acer Aspire 5560" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Acer-Aspire-5560-screen/removing-led-lcd-screen-17.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="376" /></p>

<p>In this guide I show how to replace LCD screen on HP Pavilion dv4 laptop.</p>
<p>HP Pavilion dv4 laptop comes with two different types of screens installed:<br />
1. LCD screen with CCFL backlight (requires screen inverter).<br />
2. LCD screen with LED backlight.</p>
<p>In this guide I&#8217;ll be replacing LCD with CCFL backlihgt.</p>
<p>Also you can use this guide for replacing LED LCDs but they don&#8217;t have inverter boards so you&#8217;ll have to skip steps 8 and 9.</p>
<p><span id="more-2546"></span></p>
<p>Before you start make sure the laptop is turned off.</p>
<p><strong>STEP 1.</strong></p>
<p>Remove the laptop battery.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Remove laptop battery" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/HP-Pavilion-dv4-CCFL-screen/replace-lcd-screen-02.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 2.</strong></p>
<p>Remove the screw cover located in the lower left corner of the display.</p>
<p>Remove one screw securing the screen bezel on the left side.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Left screw cover" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/HP-Pavilion-dv4-CCFL-screen/replace-lcd-screen-03.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="377" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 3.</strong></p>
<p>Remove the screw cover located in the lower right corner of the display.</p>
<p>Remove one screw securing the screen bezel on the right side.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Right screw cover" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/HP-Pavilion-dv4-CCFL-screen/replace-lcd-screen-04.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="377" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 4.</strong></p>
<p>Separate the top side of the screen bezel from the display cover.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Separate screen bezel" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/HP-Pavilion-dv4-CCFL-screen/replace-lcd-screen-05.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 5.</strong></p>
<p>Continue removing the screen bezel.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Continue removing screen bezel" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/HP-Pavilion-dv4-CCFL-screen/replace-lcd-screen-06.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 6.</strong></p>
<p>When the top side of the bezel separated from the display cover, move to the lower part.</p>
<p>Lift up one side of the bezel with a small screwdriver.</p>
<p>Work slowly. There are hidden latches securing the bezel. Try not to break all of them. <img src='http://www.insidemylaptop.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Lift up screen bezel" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/HP-Pavilion-dv4-CCFL-screen/replace-lcd-screen-07.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="377" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 7.</strong></p>
<p>Remove the screen bezel.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="HP dv4 screen bezel removed" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/HP-Pavilion-dv4-CCFL-screen/replace-lcd-screen-08.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 8.</strong></p>
<p>As I mentioned before, this HP Pavilion dv4 laptop has a CCFL LCD screen which requires an  inverter board.</p>
<p>The screen inverter mounted on the lower part of the display assembly.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="HP Pavilion dv4 screen inverter" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/HP-Pavilion-dv4-CCFL-screen/replace-lcd-screen-09.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 9.</strong></p>
<p>There are a few plastic tabs securing the inverter board.</p>
<p>Lift up the inverter board and disconnect cables on both sides of the inverter.</p>
<p>Remove the inverter.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Remove screen inverter" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/HP-Pavilion-dv4-CCFL-screen/replace-lcd-screen-10.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 10.</strong></p>
<p>Remove two screws securing the LCD screen on the top.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Remove two screen screws" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/HP-Pavilion-dv4-CCFL-screen/replace-lcd-screen-11.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 11.</strong></p>
<p>Loosen (do not removed) three screw securing the left hinge.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Left hinge screws" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/HP-Pavilion-dv4-CCFL-screen/replace-lcd-screen-12.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="377" /></p>

<p>Loosen (do not removed) three screw securing the right hinge.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Right hinge screws" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/HP-Pavilion-dv4-CCFL-screen/replace-lcd-screen-13.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="377" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 13.</strong></p>
<p>Now you should be able to separate the LCD screen from the display cover just enough to access screws on both sides of the LCD screen.</p>
<p>Remove four screws securing the LCD screen on the right side.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Right bracket screws" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/HP-Pavilion-dv4-CCFL-screen/replace-lcd-screen-14.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 14.</strong></p>
<p>Remove four more screws securing the LCD screen on the left side.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Left bracket screws" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/HP-Pavilion-dv4-CCFL-screen/replace-lcd-screen-15.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>

<p><img class="alignnone" title="Separate screen from cover" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/HP-Pavilion-dv4-CCFL-screen/replace-lcd-screen-16.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 16.</strong></p>
<p>The web camera module still attached to the LCD screen.</p>
<p>The web camera IS NOT a part of the screen but it&#8217;s attached to the screen by two sticky aluminum strips.</p>
<p>Disconnect the web camera cable on the left side.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Unplug cable from web camera" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/HP-Pavilion-dv4-CCFL-screen/replace-lcd-screen-17.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 17.</strong></p>
<p>Separate the web camera module from the screen.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Remove web camera" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/HP-Pavilion-dv4-CCFL-screen/replace-lcd-screen-18.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 18.</strong></p>
<p>Place the screen face down on the keyboard.</p>

<p>Today I show how to replace cracked LCD screen on Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop. The procedure is very similar to replacing LCD screen on many other Dell laptops and takes about 30 minutes.</p>
<p>Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop uses two different types of LCD screens:<br />
1. Old style LCD screen with CCFL backlight.<br />
2. Newer style LCD screen with LED backlight.</p>
<p>In my case I&#8217;m replacing LCD screen with LED backlight.</p>
<p><span id="more-2434"></span></p>
<p>Before you start, make sure the laptop is turned off and battery removed.</p>
<p><strong>STEP 1.</strong></p>
<p>The screen bezel has six rubber screw covers.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Screw covers" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Dell-Inspiron-1545-screen/replace-laptop-screen-02.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p>Remove all covers with a sharp object.</p>
<p>Glue these covers somewhere on the screen bezel so they don&#8217;t get lost.</p>
<p>Remove all six screws found under those covers.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Remove cover" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Dell-Inspiron-1545-screen/replace-laptop-screen-03.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="384" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 2.</strong></p>
<p>Insert your fingers between the bezel and screen and start separating the bezel.</p>
<p>The screen bezel secured by hidden latches. You&#8217;ll have to wiggle the bezel in order to disengage those latches.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Removing screen bezel" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Dell-Inspiron-1545-screen/replace-laptop-screen-04.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="392" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 3.</strong></p>
<p>Continue separating the bezel on the top of the display assembly.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Separate screen bezel" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Dell-Inspiron-1545-screen/replace-laptop-screen-05.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 4.</strong></p>
<p>The bottom part of the bezel could be glued to the LCD screen with sticky tape.</p>
<p>In this case insert a piece of soft plastic (I&#8217;m using a guitar pick) between the bezel and LCD screen and carefully move it along the side.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Separate bezel on bottom" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Dell-Inspiron-1545-screen/replace-laptop-screen-06.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 5.</strong></p>
<p>The LCD screen bezel has been removed.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Remove screen bezel" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Dell-Inspiron-1545-screen/replace-laptop-screen-07.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 6.</strong></p>
<p>Remove two screws securing LCD screen to the display cover.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Remove hinge screws" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Dell-Inspiron-1545-screen/replace-laptop-screen-08.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 7.</strong></p>
<p>Separate LCD screen from the display cover and place it face down on the keyboard.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Place LCD on keyboard" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Dell-Inspiron-1545-screen/replace-laptop-screen-09.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 8.</strong></p>
<p>Now you can access the video cable connector on the back of the screen.</p>
<p>Laptops with LED backlit LCD screens have no inverter board. There is only one cable plugged into the screen as it shown on the following picture.</p>
<p>If you are working on a laptop with CCFL backlit LCD screen, you&#8217;ll have to disconnect video cable from the LCD screen and inverter board which is located on the bottom of the screen.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Video cable connector" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Dell-Inspiron-1545-screen/replace-laptop-screen-10.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 9.</strong></p>
<p>Remove sticky tape securing the connection.</p>
<p>Unplug video cable from the LCD screen.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Disconnect video cable" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Dell-Inspiron-1545-screen/replace-laptop-screen-11.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="424" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 10.</strong></p>
<p>Now you can remove the LCD screen and replace it with a new one.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Remove LCD screen" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Dell-Inspiron-1545-screen/replace-laptop-screen-12.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p>New replacement LCD screens for Dell Inspiron 1545 laptops <a href="http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?ff3=4&amp;pub=5574673312&amp;toolid=10001&amp;campid=5335918710&amp;customid=Inspiron+1545+screen&amp;mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_from%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dp5197.m570.l1313%26_nkw%3DInspiron%2B1545%2Bscreen%26_sacat%3DSee-All-Categories" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">available here</a>.</p>
<p>You can search by the LCD screen model number which is printed on the screen label. In my case I had this screen: <strong>LP156WH2 (TL)(A1)</strong>.</p>
<p>Remember, there are two different types of screens used in this model: LCD screen with CCFL backlight (older type) and LCD screen with LED backlight (newer type).</p>
<p>CCFL backlit LCD screen have a short cable sticking out of the lower right corner &#8211; this is backlight lamp cable.</p>
<p>LED backlight LCD screens do not have this cable.</p>
<p>Make sure to buy the correct screen.</p>
<p><strong>STEP 11.</strong></p>
<p>The final step would be moving LCD screen mounting brackets to the new screen.</p>
<p>Remove three screws on one side of the screen and transfer the bracket to the new screen. Do the same on the other side.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Remove mounting brackets" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Dell-Inspiron-1545-screen/replace-laptop-screen-13.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p>In one of previous guides I explain <a title="Replacing Dell Inspiron 1545 keyboard" href="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/replace-keyboard-dell-inspiron-1545-laptop/">how to replace Dell Inspiron 1545 keyboard</a>.</p>

<p>In this guide I explain how to replace broken screen on HP 2000 laptop. In my case the screen was accidentally damaged and the image disappeared completely.</p>
<p>To be precise, I&#8217;m working on an HP 2000-210US laptop.</p>
<p>I would suggest making some notes during the disassembly process about screw locations. Some screws have different length. Your notes will be helpful when you assemble the laptop back together.</p>
<p><span id="more-2423"></span></p>
<p>Turn off the laptop and remove the battery.</p>
<p><strong>STEP 1.</strong></p>
<p>Using a sharp object remove the screw cover located in the lower left corner of the display.</p>
<p>Remove the screw.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Left screw cover" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/HP-2000/replace-laptop-screen-02.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="377" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 2.</strong></p>
<p>Remove the screw cover in the lower right corner.</p>
<p>Remove the screw.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Right screw cover" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/HP-2000/replace-laptop-screen-03.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="377" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 3.</strong></p>
<p>Insert your fingers between the LCD screen bezel and back cover and start separating the bezel.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Separate screen bezel" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/HP-2000/replace-laptop-screen-04.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="377" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 4.</strong></p>
<p>Remove the screen bezel.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Remove screen bezel" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/HP-2000/replace-laptop-screen-05.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 5.</strong></p>
<p>Remove one screw securing the left hinge cover.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Left hinge screw" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/HP-2000/replace-laptop-screen-06.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="377" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 6.</strong></p>
<p>Using a small screwdriver pull the hing cover and remove it.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Left hinge cover" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/HP-2000/replace-laptop-screen-07.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="377" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 7.</strong></p>
<p>Remove one screw securing the right hinge cover.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Right hinge screw" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/HP-2000/replace-laptop-screen-08.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="377" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 8.</strong></p>
<p>Remove the right hinge cover.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Right hinge cover" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/HP-2000/replace-laptop-screen-09.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="377" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 9.</strong></p>
<p>Remove six screws securing the LCD screen assembly to the display cover.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Remove display screws" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/HP-2000/replace-laptop-screen-10.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 10.</strong></p>
<p>Separate back cover from the LCD screen.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Separate display cover" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/HP-2000/replace-laptop-screen-11.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 11.</strong></p>
<p>Now you can access the video cable connector located on the back side of the screen.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Video cable connector" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/HP-2000/replace-laptop-screen-12.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 12.</strong></p>
<p>Remove clear tape securing the connection.</p>
<p>Disconnect the video cable connector from the LCD screen connector.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Unplug video cable" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/HP-2000/replace-laptop-screen-13.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="377" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 13.</strong></p>
<p>Remove three screws securing the LCD screen to the right hinge bracket.</p>
<p>Remove three more screws on the left side.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Remove side screws" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/HP-2000/replace-laptop-screen-14.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 14.</strong></p>
<p>Now you can remove and replace the damaged LCD screen.</p>
<p>When you are searching for a new replacement screen, do not confuse HP 2000 with HP dv2000. They are two different models.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Remove HP 2000 screen" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/HP-2000/replace-laptop-screen-15.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="377" /></p>
<p>Assemble the laptop back together following instructions from step 14 to step 1.</p>
<p>I had some trouble connecting the screen bezel to the cover on the lower part of the display. The bezel didn&#8217;t click back on place.</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s how I did it.</p>
<p>I placed the laptop upside down and pushed on the screen bezel with a plastic stick. While pushing on the bezel, I moved the stick from one side to another and the screen bezel clicked back in place.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Assemble laptop" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/HP-2000/replace-laptop-screen-16.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>

<p>In this post I explain how to replace LCD screen in a <strong>Dell Studio 1555</strong> laptop.</p>
<p>UPDATE: today I had to replace damaged screen in a Dell Studio 1558 laptop and the replacement procedure was identical to Dell Studio 1555.</p>
<p>In my case the LCD screen started showing horizontal lines and only small portion of the screen still worked properly.</p>
<p><span id="more-2226"></span></p>
<p>In order to replace the LCD screen it&#8217;s not necessary to <a title="How to disassemble Dell Studio 1555 laptop" href="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/how-to-disassemble-dell-studio-1555-laptop/">disassemble the entire laptop</a> and remove the display panel. You can replace the screen while the display panel still attached to the laptop.</p>
<p>Before you start, make sure the laptop is turned off and battery removed.</p>
<p><strong>STEP 1.</strong></p>
<p>There are no screws securing the screen bezel to the display cover. It&#8217;s secured by hidden plastic latches.</p>
<p>Insert a piece of soft plastic (I&#8221;m using a guitar pick) between the screen bezel and display cover and wiggle it to release hidden latches. Separate bezel from the cover.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Separate screen bezel" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Dell-Studio-1555-screen/replace-failed-screen-02.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="376" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 2</strong></p>
<p>Continue removing the bezel with your fingers.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Continue removing bezel" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Dell-Studio-1555-screen/replace-failed-screen-03.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 3.</strong></p>
<p>Separate bezel from the cover on the bottom of the display assembly.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Separate bezel on bottom" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Dell-Studio-1555-screen/replace-failed-screen-04.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="376" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 4.</strong></p>
<p>Remove the screen bezel.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Remove screen bezel" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Dell-Studio-1555-screen/replace-failed-screen-05.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p>You&#8217;ll find a small magnet attached to the back side of the screen bezel. This magnet activates lid close switch when the display is closed.</p>
<p>Do not lose the magnet or the lid close switch will not work.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Lid close switch magnet" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Dell-Studio-1555-screen/replace-failed-screen-06.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 5.</strong></p>
<p>Remove four screws securing the LCD screen.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Remove screen screws" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Dell-Studio-1555-screen/replace-failed-screen-07.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 5.</strong></p>
<p>Separate the LCD screen assembly from the display cover so you can access the webcam cable.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Access webcam module" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Dell-Studio-1555-screen/replace-failed-screen-08.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 6.</strong></p>
<p>Unplug the cable from the webcam module.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Disconnect webcam cable" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Dell-Studio-1555-screen/replace-failed-screen-09.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="376" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 7.</strong></p>
<p>Place the LCD screen face down on the top cover.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Turn screen over" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Dell-Studio-1555-screen/replace-failed-screen-10.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 8.</strong></p>
<p>Remove sticky tape securing the video cable connector.</p>
<p>Unplug video cable from the LCD screen.</p>
<p><strong>NOTE:</strong> if you have an older LCD screen with CCFL backlight, you&#8217;ll have to disconnect one more cable from the inverter board.</p>
<p>My Dell Studio 1555 laptop came with a LED-backlit LCD screen which doesn&#8217;t require the inverter board.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Disconnect video cable" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Dell-Studio-1555-screen/replace-failed-screen-11.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="376" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 9.</strong></p>
<p>Remove LCD screen assembly from the laptop.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Remove LCD screen" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Dell-Studio-1555-screen/replace-failed-screen-12.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="376" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 10.</strong></p>
<p>You&#8217;ll have to transfer mounting brackets to the new LCD screen.</p>
<p>Each mounting bracket secured by two screws on the side of the LCD screen.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Remove mounting brackets" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Dell-Studio-1555-screen/replace-failed-screen-13.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 11.</strong></p>
<p>You can search for a <a rel="nofollow" href="http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?ff3=4&amp;pub=5574673312&amp;toolid=10001&amp;campid=5335918710&amp;customid=Studio+1555+screen&amp;mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fshop.ebay.com%2Fi.html%3F_nkw%3DDell%2BStudio%2B1555%2Bscreen%26_sacat%3D0%26_odkw%3DDell%2BStudio%2B1555%2Bscreen%26_osacat%3D0%26_trksid%3Dp3286.c0.m270.l1313" target="_blank">new replacement LCD screen</a> by the screen model number or Dell part number.</p>
<p>In my laptop the LCD screen model number is <strong>BT156GW01 V.4</strong> and Dell part number is <strong>01G5D3</strong>.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Find replacement LCD screen" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Dell-Studio-1555-screen/replace-failed-screen-14.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="376" /></p>
<p><strong>Dell Studio 1555 laptop comes with a few different types of screens:</strong></p>
<p>1. 15.6<strong>&#8221; </strong>WXGA (1366X768) HD screen with CCFL backlight.<br />
2. 15.6&#8243; WXGA (1366X768) HD LED-backlit LCD screen.<br />
3. 15.6&#8243; WXGA++ (1600&#215;900) HD+ LED-backlit LCD screen.<br />
4. 15.6&#8243; WUXGA (1920&#215;1080) Full HD LED-backlit LCD screen.</p>
<p>Make sure to find the right replacement screen for your laptop.</p>

<p><img class="alignnone" title="Dell Inspiron 1564 broken screen" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Dell-Inspiron-1564-screen/replacing-broken-screen-01.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p>Here I explain how to replace broken LCD screen on a Dell Inspiron 1564 laptop.</p>
<p>Most likely this guide will work for some other Dell laptops. If it works for you, please mention the model number in comments after the post.</p>
<p><span id="more-2193"></span></p>
<p>Before you start, make sure the laptop is turned off and battery removed.</p>
<p><strong>STEP 1.</strong></p>
<p>Start separating the screen bezel from the display cover with a piece of soft plastic. I&#8217;m using a guitar pick for that.</p>
<p>There are hidden plastic latches securing the bezel. You&#8217;ll have to wiggle the bezel up and down to disengage those latches.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Separate screen bezel" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Dell-Inspiron-1564-screen/replacing-broken-screen-02.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 2.</strong></p>
<p>Continue separating the bezel with your fingers.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Continue removing bezel" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Dell-Inspiron-1564-screen/replacing-broken-screen-03.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 3.</strong></p>
<p>The bezel had been separated on the upper side of the display. Now move to the bottom side of the display.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Screen bezel separated on top" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Dell-Inspiron-1564-screen/replacing-broken-screen-04.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 4.</strong></p>
<p>Separate screen bezel from the LCD screen on the bottom of the display assembly.</p>
<p>Continue removing the bezel with your fingers.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Screen bezel separated on bottom" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Dell-Inspiron-1564-screen/replacing-broken-screen-05.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 5.</strong></p>
<p>Remove the bezel.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Screen bezel removed" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Dell-Inspiron-1564-screen/replacing-broken-screen-06.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 6.</strong></p>
<p>Remove six screws securing the screen assembly to the display cover.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Remove screws securing screen" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Dell-Inspiron-1564-screen/replacing-broken-screen-07.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 7.</strong></p>
<p>Now you can separate the screen from the cover.</p>
<p>Be careful, the screen cable still attached to the webcam module and screen itself.</p>
<p>Do not move the screen too far from the cover.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Separate screen from cover" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Dell-Inspiron-1564-screen/replacing-broken-screen-08.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 8.</strong></p>
<p>Place the screen face down on the keyboard.</p>
<p>Now you can access the video cable connector on the back of the screen.</p>
<p><strong>NOTE:</strong> if your laptop has a regular CCFL backlit LCD screen (not LED screen) you&#8217;ll have to do one more step &#8211; disconnect cable from the inverter board.</p>
<p>LED-backlit LCD screens do not require an inverter. It&#8217;s connected directly to the motherboard.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Access video cable connector" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Dell-Inspiron-1564-screen/replacing-broken-screen-09.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 9.</strong></p>
<p>Remove sticky tape securing the video cable connector.</p>
<p>Unplug the video cable connector from the LCD screen.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Disconnect video cable" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Dell-Inspiron-1564-screen/replacing-broken-screen-10.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 10.</strong></p>
<p>Now you can remove the LCD screen assembly.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Remove broken screen" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Dell-Inspiron-1564-screen/replacing-broken-screen-11.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 11.</strong></p>
<p>Transfer both mounting brackets to the new screen.</p>
<p>In order to remove the bracket you&#8217;ll have to remove three screws.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Transfer bracket to new screen" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Dell-Inspiron-1564-screen/replacing-broken-screen-12.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p>Now you can replace the broken LCD screen with a new one.</p>
<p><strong>Make sure to find the correct LCD screen for your laptop.</strong></p>
<p>After the broken screen is removed, you can search for the screen model on the back. Google the model number to find screen specifications (backligt type and resolution). <p>Here I explain how to replace broken screen in an Acer Aspire 5745G laptop. This guide should work for the entire Acer Aspire 5745 series.</p>
<p>This laptop model uses a LED-backlit LCD screen which is relatively inexpensive.</p>
<p><span id="more-1696"></span></p>
<p>In my example I&#8217;ll be replacing the broken screen in a display panel which is separated from the laptop base. I removed the display panel in the <a title="Acer Aspire 5745 disassembly" href="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/disassemble-acer-aspire-5745-laptop/">previous Acer Aspire 5745 disassembly guide</a>.</p>
<p>But it&#8217;s not necessary to remove the display panel. You should be able to replace the screen while the display panel still attached to the laptop base. It will be a little bit harder to remove the screen bezel but possible.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Remove display" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Acer-Aspire-5745-display/replace-broken-screen-02.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p>Let&#8217;s replace the broken screen.</p>
<p><strong>STEP 1.</strong></p>
<p>You&#8217;ll find two screw covers in the lower left and right corners of the display panel.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Remove screw covers" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Acer-Aspire-5745-display/replace-broken-screen-03.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p>Remove both covers with a sharp object.</p>
<p>After that remove both screws securing the bezel.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Remove screws" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Acer-Aspire-5745-display/replace-broken-screen-04.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="376" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 2.</strong></p>
<p>Start separating the screen bezel from the display cover on the top.</p>
<p>Wiggle the bezel until it&#8217;s separated from the cover. There are many hidden plastic latches holding the bezel attached to the cover.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Separate screen bezel" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Acer-Aspire-5745-display/replace-broken-screen-05.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="376" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 3.</strong></p>
<p>Continue separating the screen bezel from the cover.</p>
<p>NOTE: most likely the bezel will be glued to bottom part of the screen with double sticky tape.</p>
<p>Work slowly. Carefully unglue the bezel from the screen.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Continue separating screen bezel" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Acer-Aspire-5745-display/replace-broken-screen-06.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 4.</strong></p>
<p>Remove the bezel.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Acer Aspire 5745G screen bezel" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Acer-Aspire-5745-display/replace-broken-screen-07.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 5.</strong></p>
<p>Remove four screws securing the LCD screen to the display cover.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Remove screen screws" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Acer-Aspire-5745-display/replace-broken-screen-08.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 6.</strong></p>
<p>Separate the LCD screen from the cover so you can access the video cable connector on the back of the screen.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Separate screen from cover" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Acer-Aspire-5745-display/replace-broken-screen-09.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 7.</strong></p>
<p>The video cable connector located in the lower part of the screen.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Access screen connector" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Acer-Aspire-5745-display/replace-broken-screen-10.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 8.</strong></p>
<p>Remove any tape securing the video cable connector and unplug it from the LCD screen.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Disconnect video cable" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Acer-Aspire-5745-display/replace-broken-screen-11.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="376" /></p>
<p><strong>STEP 9.</strong></p>
<p>Now you can remove the broken screen and replace it with a new one.</p>
<p><img class="alignnone" title="Remove Acer Aspire 5745 screen" src="http://www.insidemylaptop.com/images/Acer-Aspire-5745-display/replace-broken-screen-12.jpg" alt="" width="500" height="375" /></p>
<p>New LED-backlit LCD screens for Acer Aspire 5745 series <a rel="nofollow" href="http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?ff3=4&amp;pub=5574673312&amp;toolid=10001&amp;campid=5335918710&amp;customid=Acer+Aspire+5745+screen&amp;mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fshop.ebay.com%2Fi.html%3F_from%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dp5197.m570.l1313%26_nkw%3DAcer%2BAspire%2B5745%2Bscreen%26_sacat%3DSee-All-Categories" target="_blank">available here</a>.</p>
<p>You can search for a new screen by the laptop model or LCD screen model.</p>
<p>The LCD screen model printed on the back of the screen. In my case the screen model number is: LP156WH3 (TL)(A2).</p>
