Dell XPS m1210 laptop has two memory slots but when you remove the memory cover from the bottom of the laptop you will find only one slot. How to access the second memory slot?
Here’s the answer. The second memory slot is hidden under the keyboard.
I just created a new step-by-step disassembly guide for Dell XPS M1210. You’ll find the new guide here.
In order to access the hidden slot, you’ll have to remove the keyboard. You can do it in two easy steps.
1. Remove the hinge cover.
2. Lift up the keyboard and place it upside down on the palm rest. It’s not necessary to disconnect the keyboard cable from the motherboard.
Also, when you remove the keyboard you’ll get an access to the RTC (CMOS) battery.
While under the keyboard, you can blow off dust from the cooling fan and heat sink by spraying canned air into the fan.

You are welcome,
I know. Updating laptop RAM could be a problem if you don’t know where to plug in the module.

You are awesome — I never would have figured this out. I can’t believe Dell didn’t put this in their 180+ page instruction book for the computer. … well, based upon my last few experiences, I guess I can believe it after all.
Many thanks.
